Always remember that whenever you are dealing with your clients you are dealing with human beings (creatures of emotion) basically. These are not just cash cows but rather people just like you. Do not be afraid to engage with them at a personal level however keep it professional. Here are a few tips to engage with your customer at a personal level but still maintaining the professional boundaries;
1. Always address them by their name. Don’t generalize them by calling them Sir/Madam
2. Capture their birthdays and send them an email or text message
3. Ask after their family.
4. Identify their favorite product or service and send them promotions and updates before they ask
5. Always make follow up calls after a purchase to find out if the product is working well for them.
Remember a simple thank you note can go a long way!
